The U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions will hold a hearing on April 18, 2013, regarding President Obama’s nominee for Secretary of Labor, Thomas E. Perez.  Perez is currently the U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, and formerly served as Maryland's Secretary of Labor.  A number of Republican Senators have voiced concern about Perez' nomination.
